I am happy to report that for the first time since its establishment, OHAN had teamed up with the Tufts School of Dental Medicine in raising oral hygiene awareness by handing out dental supplies and delivering educational sessions on proper oral hygiene practices for the Tet in Boston Festival held at Harbor Point Middle School. Tet is the most celebrated holiday for the Vietnamese community, and OHAN is proud to have contributed its effort in raising oral health across nations on this joyous occasion. Between HSDM and TUSDM, more than 1000 dental supplies were given out, which includes toothpaste, tooth brushes, and dental floss. More than 300 children were given educational sessions on "proper flossing and brushing techniques" by first and second year dental students. This collaboration between HSDM OHAN and TUSDM sets a mile stone in both our goals of improving the quality of oral health, and provides a framework for future collaboration for projects down the road.
